Marion Technical College (MTC) will host Residual ACT Test opportunities on August 11 and September 1, providing individuals with the chance to complete testing prior to Fall Quarter 2006.
''The ACT is an academic achievement test required or recommended for several limited enrollment programs at MTC,'' explained Joel Liles, Director of Admission and Career Services at MTC. ''These residual test dates are unique in that they are administered and scored locally, so results can be available in as little as one week. This is ideal for someone who is just now deciding on college.''
Residual test results are official ACT scores and available to students of both MTC and The Ohio State University at Marion (OSUM).
MTC limited enrollment programs requiring ACT scores for formal admission include Nursing, and Human and Social Services; programs that strongly recommend ACT tests include Physical Therapist Assistant and Medical Laboratory Technology. Students enrolled in pre-health or pre-human services courses do not need the ACT to begin these classes.
For additional information, or to register for the ACT residual testing, contact Deb Murphy in the MTC Office of Admission at 740.389.4636, ext. 317, or by e-mail at www.mtc.edu.
The National ACT will be offered again on the Marion Campus in mid fall. Registration packets will be available from MTC, OSUM, and area high schools.
