Two suspects were taken to the hospital following a chase after several break ins in Caledonia.
Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department say 21-year-old Michael McCoy and 19-year-old Brent Hakes, both of Mt. Gilead, broke into Reece’s Market, The Library, Dug Out Pizza, and Camouflage Café in Caledonia around 2 AM Friday morning. They are believed to have stolen food, cash, and tobacco products along with a gun.
Deputy Rick Hare responded to a suspicious activity call at 2:34, where he discovered the suspect’s car and began a pursuit.
That pursuit ended in at crash at County Road 61 and County Road 9 in Morrow County.
Both suspects were taken initially to Morrow County Hospital then transferred to Grant Medical Center.
The investigation continues.
