The first Marion County baby born in 2009 belonged to a Morrow County couple. Seven pound, 5 ounce Leah Marie Ervin was born at 11:13 AM on New Year’s Day.
Her parents are Brandi Klein and Chad Ervin, both of Mt. Gilead.
A basket was presented to the new parents in a yearly tradition held by the hospital.
The basket is presented each year to the first baby of the new year and its parents. It’s put together by the Public Relations Department at Marion General along with area merchants.
