OSUM Professor Wins Prestigious Award

04-10-2009

Ohio State University of Marion Associate Professor of History Doctor David Steigerwald was presented wit the Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching on Wednesday.

Dr. Steigerwald was given the award by Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee.

“I’m a little shocked but enormously honored,” Dr. Steigerwald said. “There’s no greater award than to be honored by your students and colleagues.

Greg Rose, the Director of OSUM, said of Steigerwald, “Those of us that have worked with Dave know the impact he has on his students.”

Dr. Steigerwald graduated from The Ohio State University in 1982 and received his doctorate in 1987. He currently teaches Twentieth Century America and has written 5 books and several essays.

The Alumni Award recognizes a maximum of ten faculty members for their teaching excellence. Recipients receive an honorarium and a raise.
