The Ohio State University at Marion is inviting the community to the Infinity Restaurant in the historic Harding Hotel, 267 West Center Street, downtown Marion, Tuesday, November 3, 7 p.m., for a free monthly community dialogue on science entitled, Science Café.
November’s Science Café welcomes Assistant Professor Kenneth Tankersley, from the University of Cincinnati, Department of Anthropology, as he leads the Science Café discussion, "Ancient Cave Art".
According to Tankersley, ancient art can be found in caves in Lascaux, France, but there are also examples closer to home. Included in his upcoming discussion will be a comparison of art in France with that of the Cherokee tribe. Dr. Tankersley also oversaw excavation at Sheriden Cave in Wyandot County, Ohio.
Science cafés involve a lively conversation with a scientist about current science topics. Science Café is free and open to everyone, and takes place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. At a café you can learn about the latest issues in science, chat with a scientist in plain language, meet new friends, speak your mind, and talk with your mouth full.
The Infinity Restaurant will be open for dinner.
