United Way of Morrow County was
proud to announce exceeding their goal of
$150,000. Rosemary Levings, Executive Director, was excited as she
gathered
Board Members and Campaign Chair, Cheryl Herbert to the “Victory
Rally” as
they marked the thermometer on the square in Mt. Gilead on Monday,
December 1.

Levings contributes the success to
the many Morrow County residents and businesses that take an
interest in their community and realize the need to help the ten
agencies United Way supports. Levings reported that with the
economy and budget cuts, not only to agencies, but also to many
employees of Morrow County, they still came through, and to them
we are thankful.
The exciting part is, even though
the campaign is over, we are still receiving and will receive
pledges. There are still some of the divisions that are not quite
complete. The campaign started out with 41% of their goal at the
Kick-Off in September from the Pacesetters, part of the sales of
the football raffle, and pledges that had come into the office. .
According to Levings, several weeks ago, she went through the
donors list and sent a second letter to donors they had not heard
from and bless their hearts, they came through for us. We still
had around $9,000 outstanding in those donations.
The pledges for United Way of Morrow County as of 12/1/03 are:
$156,226.67.
THANK YOU MORROW COUNTY FOR “INVESTING IN YOUR COMMUNITY” BY
GIVING TO UNITED WAY.
